This week in Screen Time, I sing the praises of Josh O’Connor in the new Knives Out movie. I also share what’s all over my FYP, which includes The Pitt Season 2 trailer, and Steven Spielberg’s long-awaited next film! There’s also what we’ve got going on over on BuzzFeed Celeb’s YouTube channel, and I share the ONE movie I would take to a desert island. So, let’s get started!
And if you're saying, "Hey! I love all of that stuff," then you can get Screen Time delivered directly to your inbox by subscribing here!
Here's what the newsletter is covering this week:
Avatar: Fire and Ash — watch for: Visually stunning spectacle that needs to be seen on the big screen
Emily in Paris — watch for: The perfect Netflix binge-watch once again
My kids!! Percy Jackson and the Olympians is finally back with Season 2, so to celebrate, we had Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri play with puppies while answering a bunch of questions. They talk about what they’ve taken from set, their favorite behind-the-scenes memories, and more. But, most importantly, they talk about the actors they’d love to see as guest stars on potential future seasons. Like, Walker really wants Logan Lerman, aka the OG Percy Jackson, to play Percy’s brother, Triton.
Meanwhile, Aryan wants Willem Dafoe to play Pan, and Leah is campaigning hard for Zendaya as Aphrodite. Honestly, someone put these kids in the casting department! You can watch all of the cuteness (and chaos) by clicking on the video below:

BuzzFeed Celeb / Via youtube.comThe first trailer for The Pitt Season 2 is here, and it’s all I will be thinking about for the foreseeable future. The Pitt was my favorite show of 2025. To say I am seated and ready for new episodes is, frankly, an understatement. Season 2 will take place over a 15-hour shift over the Fourth of July weekend. That sentence alone should tell you that chaos is likely to ensue as Dr. “Robby” Robinavitch checks back in for his shift. And I’m not alone in freaking out about new The Pitt episodes:
MOVIE FANS, THIS ONE IS FOR YOU! Steven Spielberg dropped the first teaser trailer for his new sci-fi movie, Disclosure Day. This marks the first movie he has written and directed since The Fabelmans in 2022. In the words of one fan, “I like that going back to basics for Spielberg is aliens. That’s why he rules.” Like, HECK YES. Let’s GO!
The film stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, Eve Hewson, Wyatt Russell, and more, and aside from that, the plot is being kept pretty under wraps. There’s a global secret. There are aliens. And that’s all we’ve got. Like everyone else, I could not be more excited:
If you were stranded on an island with only ONE movie to watch, what would it be?
If I could only pick one movie to take to a deserted island, it would have to be one of my Letterboxd top four picks, which are my favorite movies of all time. So, I think I’d be stuck with Greta Gerwig’s Little Women. I watch that movie at LEAST twice a year, and I never get bored with it. Listen, could I take something a little more fun, like The Princess Diaries, How to Train Your Dragon, or The Goonies? SURE! But there’s something about Gerwig’s Little Women that has a grip on me. So, yes, I’ll be on my little island with Meg, Jo, Beth, Amy, and Laurie.
Well, that's all I've got for this week's edition of Screen Time. Come back every week to get more TV and movie recommendations, find out which celebs we're working with, and so much more!
