“We’re in a group chat and she got nominated for a SAG today and I did not…All her friends were like ‘Congratulations Emma’ and I just do a sad face.”

And as close friends do, the pair — who once historically competed for the same role in 2010's Easy A, which ultimately went to Emma — tend to poke fun at each other here and there.

This week, Jen revealed how she reacted when Emma received a Screen Actors Guild nomination for her performance in Bugonia — while Jen missed out on a nom for her role in Die, My Love.

Emma bagged a nomination for Best Female Actor in a Leading Role for her work in Yorgos Lanthimos’s 2025 comic sci-fi drama, which also stars Jesse Plemons and Aidan Delbis.

Meanwhile, Jen played the leading character, Grace, in Lynne Ramsay’s Die, My Love, which was also released last year.

IMO, both performances were incredible. But sadly, Jen didn’t receive a SAG nomination — something that she jokingly sulked over in a hilarious text to Emma.

“We’re in a group chat and she got nominated for a SAG today and I did not,” Jen shared during an interview with podcast host Josh Horowitz at the 92NY.

“I wrote ‘WHAT!’ and all her friends were like ‘Congratulations Emma’ and I just do a sad face,” she said.

“Every time she tries to talk today, I’m like ‘Why are you not saying sorry,’” she quipped before adding, “She’s been beating me for decades but it’s an honor.”
