For reference, Brooklyn and Nicola got married in 2022, and things have been pretty up-and-down between them and his family in the years since. You can read an extensive, in-depth recap of the entire feud here, or just the details of Brooklyn’s statement here.

Brooklyn’s major claims included his mom apparently “dancing very inappropriately on” him at his and Nicola’s wedding, and his family “consistently” disrespecting Nicola — both before and after their wedding. He also said that his “family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first. Family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations.”

Brooklyn firmly stated that he has absolutely no intention of reconciling with his family, and added that he has been “controlled” by his famous parents for “most” of his life, which resulted in him growing up with “overwhelming anxiety.”

“For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief,” he concluded the bombshell post. “My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”

And that last line has caught the attention of another famous face, with Alana Hadid spotted leaving a pretty telltale comment about the famous feud on Instagram — and she has a direct connection to Nicola.

In case you didn’t know, before she was with Brooklyn, Nicola dated Alana’s younger brother, Anwar Hadid, for around 18 months. They were first romantically linked in early 2017, when Nicola was 22 years old, and Anwar was 17.

At the time, Nicola was an aspiring actor, and Anwar was an up-and-coming model, following in the footsteps of his older sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid.

Throughout their relationship, Anwar and Nicola made regular public appearances together and often featured in one another’s social media posts. They eventually split in 2018, with neither of them publicly commenting on the reason behind the breakup.

With this in mind, it’s pretty noteworthy that Alana decided to add her voice to the drama by responding to an Instagram comment about Brooklyn’s statement that read: “Ending an eight paragraph rant about his family’s dirty laundry with ‘all we want is privacy’ is all I need to know.”

Alana replied: “right and that girl doesn’t want privacy she’s been trying to be famous for a decade 😂😂😂😂”

It’s worth noting that in recent years, Nicola — who is the daughter of controversial billionaire Nelson Peltz — has continued to pursue her acting dreams, and in 2024 she wrote, directed, and starred in the critically panned movie Lola.

Needless to say, people are obsessed with Alana adding her voice to the drama, with one popular comment on a Reddit forum reading: “Look at my dreams coming true. The Hadid’s have entered the chat. BRB I’m gonna go grab some refreshments. It’s about to get good.”

“I love this kind of petty celeb drama lol,” somebody else replied, while another user echoed: “Y’know what, with everything going on right now, we deserve some good old fashioned celebrity drama.”

While Alana has, indeed, entered the chat, none of the Beckhams have publicly commented on Brooklyn’s statement in the days since it was posted. However, his younger brother Cruz Beckham was caught liking playful memes referring to his claim about Victoria dancing at the wedding.

The first was a clip of Victoria herself clad in leather while dancing and performing her post-Spice Girls solo single “Not Such an Innocent Girl” back in 2001. The caption simply reads: “The wedding dance in question.”

And the other post that Cruz liked is an Instagram reel from comic @Olly_101 depicting the DJ at Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding. Olly says: “And now for the song requested from the mother of the groom for her first dance with her son.” Olly’s face then drops in horror and concern as “Pony” by Ginuwine starts playing. For reference, “Pony” is mainly associated with stripping thanks to its slow, grinding, and bass-heavy production, as well as its provocative lyrics.

Meanwhile, David made some telling comments during a pre-arranged appearance at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Tuesday. During his discussion about social media with CNBC’s Squawk Box, David said: “I’ve always spoken about social media and the power of social media, for the good and for the bad.”

“The bad we’ve talked about, with what kids can access these days. It can be dangerous, but what I’ve found personally, especially with my kids as well; use it for the right reasons,” he continued. “I’ve been able to use my platform and my following for UNICEF, and it’s been the biggest tool to make people aware of what’s going on around the world for children.”

“I’ve tried to do the same with my children to educate them. They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That’s how they learn,” David went on. “So, that’s what I try to teach my kids. But you know, you have to sometimes let them make those mistakes as well.”

To reiterate, David did not mention Brooklyn in any capacity during his appearance, and these quotes were part of a broader, pre-arranged conversation on the dangers of social media.
